The assault caused the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
